Welcome to the Osprey Blog. Osprey Publishing is an illustrated military history publisher, and we see our blog as a place for interested people to come together and talk military history – about anything and everything to do with it. We love it and we know you do too.

Guidelines

Our aim is to have discussions that are both thought-provoking and civil. We want you to comment, we want you to have your say. However, as much as we want to keep it a relaxed and open environment, we feel we should probably make you aware of a few rules. They apply to both bloggers and commentors alike.

• No bigotry
• No vulgarity
• No advocating violence or flagrantly immoral conduct
• No pornography or links thereto
• No personal attacks. It's not clever.
• Nothing that would cause offence to most reasonable people
• No commercial messages
• No spam

The Bloggers

Bloggers are members of the Osprey team, and we have chosen them both for who they are and what they will bring to the table. They're free to express their opinions within reason. We don't ask them to be objective, only rational.

However, all of the opinions you read here are those of the people who write them, not Osprey Publishing. When it comes to facts, please don't take anything you read here as gospel—while our bloggers are great people, and love military history, no-one is perfect and we all can make a mistake. If you see something you think is wrong, please say so in a comment. Where possible, we'll ask the blogger to correct it and add that a correction was made.

Comments

We invite readers to write comments about the blog posts and the comments of others. Try to keep your comments short and on the topic of the thread. We don't have a formal word limit for comments, but if something is simply far too long we may delete it. Of course, if you write a work of genius, we'll allow it, but in general please aim for concise.

Comments are “moderated,” which means yours won't appear immediately after you submit it; it'll be published after a blog administrator has read it and decided it's okay. If days pass and you haven't seen your comment appear, we probably found something about it objectionable and deleted it.

If you ever think we've failed to live up to this ourselves—say, we've posted a comment you think is in poor taste, please let us know ().
